Spring Cheeks with Topshop

I'll be honest, blushers aren't up there in my most used make-up products as I find it really difficult to find a shade that complements my complexion. I much prefer a noticeable bronzer with a subtle hint of blush when it comes to my make-up routine. However, since coming across some of some my Topshop make-up stowed away in my drawer, my love for their quality has re-blossomed and have decided to share them with you.

CHEEK DUO IN DESERT SUN
This is the PERFECT product for when I'm having a lazy day. It's pretty much a blush, bronzer and highlight all in one - Hallelujah! I literally swish my brush around the pan and apply to the apples of my cheeks and up to my cheek-bone. I'm not a huge fan of the blush shade as I feel it's a little bit too pink for me however, mixed with the golden bronzer and the subtle shimmer, it makes for a gorrrrrgeous natural looking glow perfect for Spring! I'm definitely a fan of the whole Topshop make-up packaging and love the querky pencil sketch style however the white doesn't stay white for very long! I had to give all the products a good clean before I took these photos and they still don't look too great. I also thought that product could have included a compact mirror in the lid too but you can't have everything!

CREAM BLUSHES IN MORNING DEW & HEAD OVER HEELS
Topshop was where I first became acquainted with cream blushes as I'd always been a powder-blush girl. I gave them both a quick swatch on my hand and was instantly impressed with how well the both blushes blended into my skin. They do apply as a cream but they dry to a powder which I really enjoy about the product. I like to use a cream-based highlighter so a creamy blush might be a little over-kill on the 'dewey' look front. Morning Dew, especially, is one of those blushes that look very scary in the packaging but gives a gorgeous finish when applied to your face. I did at first apply them using the RT Stippling Brush but soon learnt that blending them with my fingers made for a much more subtle application. Out of the two, Head Over Heels is definitely my fave as I think a coral shade suits my skin tone a lot more than a pink - especially if I've got a bit of the ole' fake tan on too. They have pretty decent lasting power - I wouldn't say they last all day but hey ho - they're only £6 each!

What's your favourite Spring blush?

  2. I've always been scared of cream blush but the ones that you've featured look gorgeous. I tend to stay away from make up that a clothes shop brings out because I'm never sure of quality and my only dabble so far has been P.S. Love... by Primark. Will have to browse in Top Shop the next time I'm in town.

    1. I was the same until I found their nail polishes and then went back for more haha apparently the company that makes Topshop makeup is the same company that make Mac so you can definitely count on quality :)
